§ 2-16-23. Award of franchise agreements.

(a) The board may receive and accept bids or proposals from applicants to provide residential collection service and commercial collection service in designated service areas and may accept the bids or proposals which it deems to be in the best interest of the county and enter into franchise agreements, or it may deny the same in accordance with the law.

(b) The process for awarding a franchise agreement shall comply with the county's procurement ordinance, in chapter 2-26 of the County Code, and the county purchasing division administrative standards and procedures manual, as may be amended from time to time.
