§ 2-19-63. Training of employees.

  • (a)

    No later than June 30, 1991, and at all times thereafter, the owner or principal operator of any convenience store shall provide proper robbery deterrence and safety training to at least his/her/its employees who work between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

    (b)

    Any proposed program of training must be submitted, in writing, to the attorney general of the State of Florida, before December 31, 1990. The attorney general shall approve or disapprove of training programs, in writing, within sixty (60) days after receipt of a proposal describing the training to be provided.

    (c)

    For any convenience store legally in operation on the effective date of this article or which actually opens for full-time business within fourteen (14) days thereof, an attorney general-approved training program must be in place no later than June 30, 1991, and continuously thereafter. For any other newly opened convenience store, an attorney general-approved training program must be in place on the first day of business, and continuously thereafter.
