§ 2-21-66. No public duty.

  • The permitting of an alarm system is not intended to nor will it create a contract, duty or obligation, upon Manatee County or the sheriff, either expressed or implied, to dispatch deputies in response to alarm activations. Any and all liability and consequential damage resulting from the failure to respond to an alarm notification is hereby disclaimed and governmental immunity as provided by law is retained. By registering the alarm system, the alarm user acknowledges that law enforcement response may be unavailable or limited by factors such as: availability of law enforcement units, priority of calls, weather conditions, traffic conditions, emergency conditions and staffing levels.
