§ 2-28-43. Permit applications.
(a)
A single application/permit form, a copy of which is appended to Ordinance No. 97-22 as Appendix A, is hereby adopted for oversized vehicles/loads. All portions of the application/permit must be filled in by the applicant, with the exception of those portions labeled "Office Use Only."
(b)
Application/permit forms may be obtained from the county transportation department or at the consolidated permitting office at the county administrative center. A minimum of five (5) working days is normally necessary for processing and approval of permit applications. The applicant must take this into consideration in planning proposed operations involving oversized vehicles/loads within county rights-of-way.
(c)
Information provided by the applicant in completing the application form shall be completely truthful and shall be typewritten or printed in ink. All copies must be legible. A sketch shall accompany the application. The sketch shall reflect a plan and profile view of the proposed vehicle and/or load. This shall be a strip-drawing folded to size not to exceed eight and one-half (8½) inches by fourteen (14) inches. It shall show the vehicle weight, the load weight, the total weight, the weight per tire, the weight per lateral inch of tire, the length, the height, the width and any other information reasonably deemed necessary by the county. A simple map showing the location of the proposed haul route shall be included either on the sketch itself, or as a separate submittal.
(d)
Applicants and permittees shall have a continuing obligation to provide the county with updated drawings in the event that the proposal should be altered or the haul route changed from the drawings as originally submitted.
