Article III. OVERSIZED AND OVERWEIGHT VEHICLES AND LOADS |
§ 2-28-46. Fees.
(a)
Fees for oversized vehicle/load permits shall be set by the board by resolution and, except as provided herein, shall be paid by the applicant prior to issuance of the permit. Said fees may be amended, from time to time, by the board.
(b)
Acceptable forms of payment are: cash, checks and money orders. Checks must be made payable to the Manatee County Transportation Department, for the exact fee amount. Payment shall be made at the county transportation department office or at the consolidated permitting office at the county administrative center.
(c)
Applicants who have established a regular routine of undertaking oversized hauls within county rights-of-way may establish accounts at the discretion of the director.
(d)
Fees for permit extensions granted by the director pursuant to section 2-28-44(d) of this article shall be in the amount of one-half (½) the normal permit fee.
(e)
County employees or contractors who perform oversized hauls in rights-of-way on behalf of the county, are specifically exempt from the payment of any applicant/permit fees.
(f)
Penalty fees, for failure to secure an oversized vehicle/load permit, when such a permit is required by the terms of this article, will be equal to two (2) times the applicable basic permit application fee.
