The provisions of this article shall be enforced by members of all duly authorized
state, county and municipal law enforcement agencies within the county. To the extent
authorized pursuant to Florida Statutes Chapter 162, Part II, and other applicable
laws, the board of county commissioners may, by motion or resolution, designate employees
of the county, whose duty it is to ensure code compliance or enforce ordinances, to
administer the provisions of this article. Such individuals, before carrying out such
authority, shall complete such training and qualification requirements established
by the public safety director of Manatee County in order to exercise the powers of
code enforcement officers.
