§ 2-6-151. Unlicensed contracting.

  • (a)

    Subsections 489.127(1), 489.132(1), and 489.531(1), Florida Statutes, as amended, are hereby adopted by reference. A violation of any provision of Subsection 489.127(1), 489.132(1), or 489.531(1), Florida Statutes, as amended, may be enforced in accordance with Section 162.21, Florida Statutes, and section 2-2-25, Manatee County Code of Ordinances.

    (b)

    A violation of any provision of Subsection 489.127(1). 489.132(1), or 489.531(1), Florida Statutes, as amended, is a civil infraction.

    (c)

    If the person who has committed a civil infraction does not contest the citation, the civil penalty to be assessed by a code enforcement officer shall be two thousand dollars ($2,000) for violation of any provision of Subsection 489.127(1), 489.132(1), or 489.531(1), Florida Statutes, as amended.

    (d)

    If the person cited contests the citation and the county court finds a violation, the maximum civil penalty to be imposed by the court shall not exceed two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500) per day for each violation of any provision of Subsection 489.127(1), 489.132(1) or 489.531(1), Florida Statutes, as amended. Court fees and costs shall be assessed in addition to the civil penalty against any person who contests a citation and is found in violation.
