§ 2-7-43. Schedule of penalties.

(a)

Unless otherwise specified by a specific ordinance, the civil penalties to be assessed by a code enforcement officer issuing a citation shall be as follows:

(1)

For a first offense: One hundred dollars ($100.00).

(2)

For a second offense: Two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00).

(3)

For a third and subsequent offenses: Five hundred dollars ($500.00).

(b)

Regardless of the number of prior offenses, a code enforcement officer issuing a citation for a violation that (1) is a repeat violation; (2) presents a serious threat to the public health, safety, or welfare; or (3) is irreparable or irreversible in nature, may assess a civil penalty up to five hundred dollars ($500.00).
